When introduced into the bloodstream, the PDE5 inhibitors in Levitra disable this PDE5 enzyme, allowing for the arteries to relax and open-up, letting the blood flow freely into the main shaft of the penis. After intimacy or sexual release has been completed, the blood leaves the penis, allowing for it to return to its natural limp-state.
While the most common side effects are nominal and include, stuffy or running nose, upset stomach, facial flushing, and in some cases a visual blurring and the presence of a blue-haze in the vision, there are some rare side effects which may occur as well. While Levitra is right for most people, there are some who will not be able to take it. While there are not many common interactions when using Levitra, there are medicines which do have serious interactions. Anybody who is currently taking medicines containing Nitrates or alpha-blockers may not be able to take Levitra due to serious and dangerous interactions that may occur. Always be sure to tell your physician about ALL of the medications that you are currently taking, even if they are over-the-counter.
